Are mixed nuts good for weight loss?

I'm trying to shed some weight, and my friend suggested having nuts as a snack. Are mixed nuts actually good for weight loss, or do their calories add up too quickly?

Yes, they are great because they keep you full for longer. Just make sure they are unsalted and roasted, not fried.

I lost 12 kgs last year and mixed nuts were my go-to snack. The trick is portion control; only eat a small handful (around 30 grams) a day. If you eat them directly from a big packet while watching TV, you will gain weight instead of losing it.

I used to be so scared of eating nuts because of the fat content, and it made my anxiety about food worse. But then I realized these are healthy fats that actually help metabolism. Just don't overthink it, start with 5 almonds a day.

While mixed nuts are nutritionally dense and aid in satiety, weight loss depends on your overall daily caloric deficit. It is always best to consult a certified nutritionist or doctor to design a diet plan customized for your body type.

With PCOS, insulin levels affect weight loss. Mixed nuts are great because they don't cause insulin spikes. However, we have to be careful with portion sizes since our metabolism is already slow. Consult your dietitian to find the right balance.

Mixed nuts like walnuts and macadamias are very expensive in India. For a budget-friendly weight loss plan, you can just use roasted peanuts and chana. They offer similar protein and fiber benefits at a fraction of the cost.

I give a small mix of almonds and pistachios to my teenager who is trying to shed some weight. It stops them from reaching for chips after school. It is a very practical and healthy snack for the whole family.
