Are medjool dates good for weight loss?

I'm trying to lose some weight and replacing unhealthy snacks with fruits. Are medjool dates good for weight loss, or do they have too much sugar?

Don't just look for quick diet fixes like dates for weight loss. I once ignored my sudden weight changes and simple diet changes didn't help because there was an underlying thyroid issue. Please get a proper blood test and checkup done first before changing your diet.

Medjool dates are actually very expensive, costing almost 800 to 1000 rupees a kilo! Instead of spending so much on imported fancy dates for weight loss, you can get basic blood tests done for the same price to see your metabolic health. Normal diet works much better and cheaper.

If eating sweet, heavy dates could make me lose weight, I would be a model by now! They have so many calories that if you eat three, you have basically eaten a chapati. Better to stick to warm water and actual exercise, trust my tired bones.

Honestly, they are good only as a quick evening snack when you are working late and want to avoid biscuits. But they are packed with calories. If you are sitting at a desk all day, eating medjool dates will probably prevent weight loss unless you track the portion strictly.

Listen, weight loss is just about calorie deficit, okay? Medjool dates are healthy and give good energy, but they are very calorie-dense. Just have one if you are craving sweet, but don't eat them thinking they will magically melt fat. Take it easy and eat balanced meals.
