Are lidocaine patches safe in pregnancy?

My doctor gave me some pain medication options for my knee issue, and lidocaine patches were mentioned. Since I'm pregnant, I'm very careful about what I use. Can anyone tell me if these patches are considered safe for pregnant women?

I just delivered my baby last month and had terrible backaches during my third trimester. I asked my gynecologist about using lidocaine patches and she said absolutely not without her green light. Please get your doctor's opinion first.

Why go for chemical patches when you are pregnant? Try using a simple hot water bag wrapped in a towel, or ask your husband to gently massage with plain warm coconut oil. If the pain is too much to bear, please go and see your doctor.

During this beautiful phase of pregnancy, keeping your mind calm and positive is very important. To be absolutely safe, avoid chemical patches and rely on gentle breathing and rest. Always ask your doctor before using any medicines so you can stay stress-free.

Pregnancy means you should avoid chemical things as much as possible. I always tell my daughters to use warm herbal compresses for body pain. But if you have severe, unbearable pain, please see a doctor immediately instead of trying to patch it up at home.

Please don't try to self-medicate during pregnancy. I once ignored my wife's severe back pain symptoms thinking a simple patch would fix it, and it turned out to be a severe kidney infection that needed urgent care. Go to your gynecologist and get checked properly.

Instead of applying chemical patches, gentle stretching or a slow 15-minute walk can really help with pregnancy back pain. Of course, only do this if your doctor allows. Always ask your OB-GYN before putting any lidocaine patches on.
