Are instant mashed potatoes good for weight loss?

Being on a diet, I'm looking for quick and easy meal options. I saw instant mashed potatoes in the store. Do they fit into a weight loss plan, or are they usually too processed for that?

I used to feel so guilty trying to find easy comfort foods like instant potatoes when trying to lose weight. It's so hard to balance convenience and dieting. Honestly, these packets usually have a lot of sodium and preservatives, which made me bloat and feel worse about my progress.

Listen, if you want to lose weight, skip the instant stuff. Instant mashed potatoes are highly processed, packed with salt, and have a very high glycemic index. Just boil a real potato at home instead, it takes ten minutes and is ten times healthier for you.

Haan na, they are so easy to make when you are tired after work. But actually, they have too much sodium and butter powder in them. If you are trying to lose weight, maybe try sweet potato daliya or simple boiled sweet potato instead, much better for health.

Actually, my nutritionist explained that instant potatoes are stripped of most of their natural fiber during processing. This causes a rapid spike in blood sugar, followed by a crash that makes you feel hungry again very quickly. She advised sticking to whole boiled potatoes with the skin on for better satiety.

Agreed, they aren't great for weight loss because of the heavy processing and added sodium. Better to stick to fresh boiled potatoes in moderation.

I am just starting my fitness journey and didn't know instant potatoes weren't good. Is it because of the chemical additives? Can we eat normal homemade mashed potatoes in small portions instead, or should we avoid potatoes completely during weight loss?

In our times, we only ate what was made fresh from the kitchen. These modern instant pack foods are rarely good for health or weight loss. Try to eat fresh local vegetables and whole grains; your body will thank you as you get older.
