Will vitamin'd help with hair loss?

My hair has started thinning quite a bit, and I'm looking for ways to stop it. I read somewhere that Vitamin D deficiency can cause hair loss. If I start taking Vitamin D supplements, will it help with my hair loss?

I can only speak from my own experience: I started taking Vitamin D supplements because my levels were low, and over time, I did notice my hair felt a bit thicker, but I also made other lifestyle changes. I wouldn't say it's a direct cure for hair loss, but it's essential for overall health, and a deficiency can definitely cause issues.

Hello! Yes, Vitamin D deficiency is a common cause of hair loss, so if your levels are low, supplementing can absolutely help improve hair growth and reduce shedding. It plays a role in stimulating hair follicles. Get a blood test to confirm your levels, and your doctor can recommend the right dosage. Don't forget some healthy sun exposure too!

My dermatologist said that Vitamin D plays a crucial role in hair follicle cycling. If you have a Vitamin D deficiency, it can contribute to hair loss, especially telogen effluvium. So, if your levels are low, correcting the deficiency through supplements can certainly help improve hair health and reduce hair fall. It's not a magic bullet for all types of hair loss, but it's a significant factor.

Child, Vitamin D is good for many things, bones especially, and yes, it helps hair too, if you are deficient. Many of us don't get enough sun these days. But remember, too much can also be bad. It's always best to check with the doctor first for your levels, before taking any big doses. Also, a good hair oil massage always helps!

Oh, I was just reading about this! Apparently, Vitamin D deficiency is really common, especially in India, and it can actually mess with your hair growth. So if your levels are low, yeah, it totally could be contributing to hair loss. Getting some sun and supplements might help, but best to get a test first.
