Will 20mg of lexapro cause weight gain?

My psychiatrist recently increased my Lexapro dosage to 20mg. I've been reading online that some people experience weight gain with this medication. Is 20mg a dosage where weight gain becomes a significant concern?

Listen, with medications like Lexapro, side effects can vary so much from person to person. While weight gain is a possible side effect for some, it's not guaranteed for everyone. Don't worry too much just yet. The best thing you can do is talk openly with your doctor about your concerns. They can guide you through it.

I totally get why you'd be asking this. Dealing with mental health challenges is tough enough without worrying about body changes. Weight gain can be a side effect for some people on Lexapro, and it's a valid concern. Please discuss this with your doctor; they might have strategies to help manage it.

My health tracker shows that medication can definitely impact metabolism. With Lexapro at 20mg, weight gain is a reported side effect for some individuals. It's smart to track your weight and activity. More importantly, have a candid chat with your prescribing doctor about this, they can provide personalized advice.

I was researching Lexapro a while ago, and weight gain was listed as a possible side effect, along with other things. It seems to affect people differently, so it's not a definite outcome for everyone. But it's good to be informed and prepared, I guess.

I was on 20mg Lexapro a couple of years ago. For me, yes, I did notice some weight gain, mostly because my appetite increased a lot. It wasn't drastic, but noticeable. My doctor helped me adjust my diet and exercise slightly. So, it can happen, but it's manageable. Talk to your doc!

Weight gain is a common worry with such medications. If it happens, remember that dealing with it early can save you from more health complications and costs later. Keep regular track of your weight, maybe invest in a good home scale. Discussing diet and exercise plans with your doctor or a dietician from the start can be a good proactive step.
