Why is my poop green during pregnancy?

I'm about six months pregnant, and I've noticed my poop has been green for the past few days. It's not something that usually happens. Is this something to worry about during pregnancy?

My OB-GYN said green poop during pregnancy is often due to iron supplements, which are very common. They contain iron that isn't fully absorbed, turning stools dark green. Also, certain green leafy vegetables or food dyes can cause it. However, if accompanied by diarrhea or fever, always call your doctor to rule out infection.

During pregnancy, your body goes through so many changes. Green poop can be quite common, often linked to the iron supplements you're likely taking. It could also be due to eating a lot of green veggies or food moving through your system faster. Keep hydrating and mention it to your doctor at your next check-up just in case.

Haha, is your baby trying to tell you they want more green smoothies? 😉 But seriously, green poop in pregnancy is actually pretty normal, especially with all those prenatal vitamins and iron supplements. My wife experienced it too. Still, a quick chat with your doc puts your mind at ease!

With all the focus on nutrition in pregnancy, green poop is often just a sign of those vital iron supplements at work. It's usually harmless. Just make sure you're getting enough fiber and staying active (if your doctor allows) to keep things moving smoothly. Always check with your doctor for peace of mind.

Oh, I totally remember that! I had green poop too, and I was so freaked out during my pregnancy. My doctor quickly reassured me it was just my iron tablets. It's super common. But definitely mention it to your OB-GYN, just so they're aware and can confirm everything's fine.
