Why does pregnancy nose happen?

I'm pregnant, and my nose feels constantly stuffy and sometimes even bleeds a bit. My friend called it 'pregnancy nose'. Why does this happen during pregnancy?

Such is the journey of creation, filled with many subtle changes. Your body is adapting to bring new life. Embrace these moments with a calm heart, and remember, it is all temporary. Stay positive, dear.

Haha, pregnancy nose? Is that like when your sense of smell gets super strong? My sister was always complaining about smelling everything when she was pregnant. I guess it's just one of those weird pregnancy things, no?

Oh, the nose! Maybe it's so you can smell all the delicious cravings from a mile away! But seriously, pregnancy does some wild things to your senses. Just enjoy your food and don't worry too much about it.

My gynaecologist explained it's due to increased blood volume and hormonal changes, especially estrogen. This can cause swelling in the nasal passages, making your nose appear wider or feel stuffy. It's totally normal and temporary after delivery.

Pregnancy nose, pregnancy brain, pregnancy back pain... honestly, this whole 'creating a human' business changes everything, even your nose! Just another badge of honor for soon-to-be moms, I guess. At least it's not forever!

It's just your body changing for the baby. Many women experience different physical changes. Don't worry, it usually goes back to normal after delivery. Take care of yourself.

Oh, is that a thing? I've heard of pregnancy glow and morning sickness, but not a specific 'pregnancy nose'. I should totally google this now, sounds fascinating how the body adapts to all these changes. Thanks for bringing it up!

My wife definitely noticed her nose changing during both her pregnancies. She said it felt a bit stuffy sometimes. It was one of those things that just happened and then went back to normal later. Every pregnancy is different, though.
