Why do i have dandruff and oily hair?

My hair is constantly oily, and on top of that, I have terrible dandruff. It feels like a losing battle to keep my hair clean and healthy. What's the connection between these two issues?

Ayyo, dandruff with oily hair is quite common, child. My mother used to say it's 'pitta dosha' or too much heat in the body. She suggested using reetha and shikakai. But honestly, it's often a fungal issue like seborrheic dermatitis. A dermatologist will give you the right medicine and specific advice. Listen to elders, but trust the doctor for diagnosis.

Dude, I literally just got over this! Dandruff and oily hair together usually means seborrheic dermatitis, which is a fungal overgrowth that thrives in oil. My dermatologist gave me a specific medicated shampoo and told me to wash my hair more often, but gently. It made a huge difference. Don't let it sit, get it checked.

Dandruff and oily hair together often points to a common scalp condition. A practical solution is to use a good quality anti-dandruff shampoo that also helps control oil. Wash your hair regularly, maybe every other day, with lukewarm water. If it doesn't improve in a couple of weeks, then visiting a dermatologist is the sensible next step.

For oily hair with dandruff, some natural tips like using apple cider vinegar rinse or neem paste can sometimes help balance the scalp. However, if the dandruff is severe, itchy, or persistent, it indicates a stronger issue, possibly fungal, and in that case, you must consult a dermatologist. Natural remedies are for mild issues.

Dandruff with oily hair means your scalp environment is probably out of whack. Sometimes excess sweating from workouts can contribute if not washed properly. Also, try to keep a clean diet; sometimes processed foods or too much sugar can worsen skin and scalp conditions. But for a proper solution, a dermatologist is your best bet.

Having both dandruff and oily hair usually points to seborrheic dermatitis, which is a very common chronic inflammatory skin condition. It's caused by an overgrowth of a yeast that naturally lives on your skin, and it thrives in oily environments. Using a medicated shampoo with ingredients like ketoconazole or selenium sulfide can be very effective. Consistent use is key, and if it's severe, a dermatologist can help manage it.

Dandruff with oily hair can sometimes be influenced by overall health, including diet. As a diabetic, I know how important it is to control sugar intake, which can also impact skin and scalp health. While I can't give medical advice, consider if your diet is affecting you, and definitely see a dermatologist to rule out conditions like seborrheic dermatitis.
