Which type diabetes is hereditary?

My uncle and grandfather both have diabetes, which made me wonder about genetics. Which type of diabetes is actually considered hereditary?

Hmm, diabetes and hereditary? It's like some cravings are hereditary, right? My grandma loved sweets, and so do I! But on a serious note, type 1 and type 2 both have genetic links. Type 2 is more commonly linked to family history plus lifestyle. Type 1 is autoimmune. Don't worry too much, just eat yummy, healthy food.

Oh, this question makes me a bit anxious because my dad has diabetes. I've always worried if I'll get it too. Is it true that Type 2 is very hereditary? Does everyone whose parents have it definitely get it? Has anyone here managed to prevent it even with a family history?

Hey there! 😊 Both Type 1 and Type 2 can have a family link, but Type 2 is often seen running in families more. It means you might have a higher risk, but it's not a guarantee! A healthy lifestyle can make a huge difference. Keep smiling! ✨

From what I know, Type 2 diabetes has a stronger hereditary link, especially if close family members have it. If it runs in your family, it's wise to get regular check-ups. Preventive tests can seem a bit costly sometimes, but investing in them early can save you a lot more in treatment costs later. Plan your health expenses smartly.

Namaste. While both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes can have a hereditary component, Type 2 is more strongly influenced by family history along with lifestyle. I believe that even with genetic predisposition, a balanced life, incorporating yoga and mindful eating, can significantly help. It's about nurturing your body. Consult a doctor for proper guidance.
