Which parent determines hair loss?

I've started noticing my hairline receding a bit, and my dad went bald quite early. My mother's side has good hair. I'm wondering about genetics. Which parent determines hair loss, mostly?

Honestly, it's mostly complicated, but usually, the genetics from both sides play a role. However, for male pattern baldness, the maternal side (your mother's father) often has a stronger influence. But don't despair; many factors like diet, stress, and lifestyle also impact hair loss. It's not a done deal just because of genetics.

While genetics from both parents contribute, the X chromosome (from the mother) has some key genes related to hair loss. But wait, it's not always just genetics! As someone with thyroid issues, I know hormonal imbalances, stress, and nutritional deficiencies can also cause hair loss. So, get proper tests done and consult a doctor if you're concerned.

Oh, I used to panic about this so much, looking at my dad's hairline! Everyone says it's often more from the mother's side (her father), but it's not a guaranteed thing. I've seen plenty of people whose parents have full heads of hair and they still lose it. So don't worry too much, many things contribute to it, not just one parent.

From my understanding, hair loss can come from both sides of the family, but sometimes the maternal grandfather's genes have a strong say. However, remember that stress, diet, and lifestyle are very important too. Practicing gentle yoga and pranayama can help reduce stress, which supports overall hair health and well-being.

Arey, hair loss ka toh mix hi rehta hai na, papa side se bhi, mummy side se bhi. But they say mummy ke papa ka connection zyada strong hota hai. Ho na? But then stress, diet, sabka role hota hai, sirf genes nahi. Dhyan rakho bas.

While genetics from both parents play a role, with some studies pointing to the maternal side for male pattern baldness, remember that diet is a huge factor. A balanced vegetarian diet rich in protein, iron, and vitamins can significantly impact hair health, irrespective of genetics. Focus on nutrient intake!
