Only a psychiatrist can prescribe medicines for mental health conditions. Psychologists and counsellors provide therapy, but cannot prescribe. It's good to know the difference, just like for my thyroid, I always follow up with an endocrinologist for medication. Regular checkups are key.

I totally get why this question is important, there's so much confusion around mental health roles. It's psychiatrists who are medical doctors and can prescribe medication. Psychologists and therapists focus on talk therapy and coping strategies. It's good to clarify this when seeking help.

For mental health, it's the psychiatrist who can prescribe drugs, because they are medically trained doctors. Other professionals like psychologists offer therapy and counseling. Just like with diabetes, where the doctor prescribes the right medicine and I manage my diet, it's important to know who does what.

Yaar, so many different mental health people, it can get confusing, haan? But actually, it's the psychiatrists who are doctors first, so they are the only ones who can prescribe you medicines. Psychologists and therapists, they do counseling. So if you need meds, you gotta see a psychiatrist.

Only psychiatrists can prescribe medicines, because they're basically MBBS doctors who specialized in mental health. Psychologists and counselors help with therapy and stuff, but they can't give you meds. So if someone says they need medication, they need to see a psychiatrist.
