Which is worse hepatitis b or hepatitis c?

I'm doing some research for a health project, and I'm comparing different types of hepatitis. Specifically, I'm trying to understand the differences in severity. Between hepatitis B and hepatitis C, which one is generally considered to have a worse prognosis or more serious long-term effects?

Yaar, both are pretty bad, but actually Hepatitis C is generally considered worse. Mostly because a much higher percentage of people with Hep C go on to develop a chronic infection leading to liver cirrhosis or cancer, even if they don't have symptoms. Hep B can become chronic too, but many adults clear it on their own. So C is scarier for the long term.

For general health, keeping good hygiene and diet is always important. But for something serious like Hepatitis, you can't rely on home tips. Hepatitis C is often considered more dangerous because it very frequently leads to chronic infection and severe liver damage like cirrhosis or cancer, sometimes without even showing symptoms. Both need a doctor's care, but C has a higher chronic risk.

Having dealt with complications from another illness, I always advise caution. In the case of Hepatitis, C is generally considered more insidious and often leads to chronic infection, which can progress to liver cirrhosis or liver cancer in a high percentage of cases. Hepatitis B can also be chronic, but many adults can clear the infection spontaneously. If there's any concern, please see a hepatologist immediately for proper diagnosis and treatment.

From a health and diet perspective, both are viruses that damage the liver, and alcohol or unhealthy food can make it worse. However, medical consensus is that Hepatitis C has a higher rate of becoming a chronic condition leading to severe liver disease and cancer. So, while a good diet is crucial for liver health, if diagnosed, Hepatitis C needs more urgent and focused medical attention than B often does.

I can't give medical advice, but from discussions I've had and things I've heard, many people talk about Hepatitis C as being particularly aggressive in leading to long-term liver problems. It feels like Hep B is also serious but maybe has better management or spontaneous recovery rates for adults compared to C. Definitely, something to discuss with a specialist.
