Which diabetes type is more common?

My father has diabetes, and I'm a bit worried about my own health. I've heard there are different types, but I'm confused about which one is more commonly seen in people. Just trying to understand it better.

This is something I've actually looked up a lot, it makes me a bit anxious thinking about it. But from what I understand, Type 2 diabetes is by far the most common one. It's like, 90-95% of all diabetes cases. So many factors like lifestyle, diet, and genetics contribute to it. Type 1 is much rarer. It's good to be aware of the difference, right?

Ah, diabetes, the uninvited guest in almost every Indian household now, it seems! To answer your question, Type 2 diabetes is definitely more common. It's like the default setting these days, especially with our love for sweets and sedentary lifestyles. Type 1 is rarer, usually hits younger, and is more of an autoimmune thing. I swear, everyone knows someone with Type 2 now!

From what I've learned, especially with my PCOS, understanding diabetes is important. Type 2 diabetes is significantly more common than Type 1. It accounts for the vast majority of cases. While both need serious attention, Type 2 is often linked to lifestyle factors, though genetics play a role too. Always best to get proper medical guidance for any concerns.

My elders always told us to stay healthy to avoid these kinds of conditions. Between the two, Type 2 diabetes is definitely more common. It's often related to lifestyle and can develop over time. Type 1 is an autoimmune condition and less frequent. Still, for any concerns, a doctor's advice is always the most trustworthy.

Based on all the discussions here and what I've learned, Type 2 diabetes is overwhelmingly the most common form of diabetes globally, including in India. It accounts for about 90-95% of all diagnosed cases. Type 1 is much less common. It's good to know the difference, as management strategies vary significantly.
