Which classification system is used by most mental health?

I'm studying psychology and learning about diagnosing mental health conditions. There are different ways to classify them. Which specific classification system is most commonly used by mental health professionals today?

From my experience, understanding mental health is very complex. If you're looking into this for yourself or someone else, please consult a psychiatrist or psychologist directly. They use these systems to properly diagnose, and self-diagnosis can lead to complications.

Beta, earlier we didn't have these 'systems' but good doctors always understood the mind. I've heard they mostly use something called DSM or ICD now. But remember, a good doctor's empathy and listening are more important than just a book. Try to talk to someone you trust.

I think they mostly use DSM-5 or ICD-11 for diagnosis. But for us common people, what's important is to recognize when help is needed and to actually go to a good therapist or doctor. Knowing the system name won't solve the problem, taking action will.

Most mental health professionals globally rely on the DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) or ICD (International Classification of Diseases) for classification. However, these are tools for qualified practitioners. For any personal concerns, professional consultation is non-negotiable.

Haan, mostly DSM-5 hi use hota hai for mental health diagnosis. But na, ye sab doctors ka kaam hai. Humko bas itna pata hona chahiye ki agar koi problem lag rahi hai, toh acche mental health professional ke paas jaao. Khud se Google karke mat kuch karo.

The main ones are DSM and ICD. But listen, don't try to diagnose yourself or others with these. They are complex tools. If you have concerns, talk to a professional, that's the only right way.

When I went to Apollo for a mental health consultation, the doctor mentioned they use the DSM for diagnostics. If you're seeing a professional, just ask them directly which system they follow. It's good to be informed, but let them do the actual classification.
