Where is the liver positioned in the body?

My doctor told me to reduce alcohol intake for my liver's sake. I want to understand its position better. Where is the liver positioned in the body? Is it under the diaphragm?

The liver is situated primarily in the upper right quadrant of your abdomen, underneath your diaphragm and protected by your rib cage. However, if you are asking due to pain or concern, it is always best to consult a doctor to get an accurate diagnosis.

The liver is in the upper right part of your abdomen, beneath the diaphragm. When I went to Apollo for a checkup, my doctor explained it clearly. Don't hesitate to ask your doctor all your questions; they are the best source of information.

It's on your upper right side, under the ribs. For any health issues, don't waste time self-diagnosing. Book a quick appointment with a GP; many offer teleconsultations which can save commuting time if you're busy.
