When to worry about shortness of breath during pregnancy?

I'm pregnant and sometimes feel quite breathless, even with light activity. My mother-in-law says it's normal, but it feels a bit more than just normal. At what point should I really start to worry about shortness of breath during pregnancy and call my doctor?

I'm in my second trimester and sometimes feel breathless even doing light work. Is this normal, or should I be worried? Does anyone else experience this too? It makes me so nervous sometimes.

Yaar, actually, some breathlessness is common because of hormonal changes and the baby pushing up. But if you suddenly can't breathe properly, or you get chest pain, or your heart is racing, then you should totally call your doc or go to the emergency. Don't take chances, pregnancy is no joke.

Shortness of breath in pregnancy? My wife just said it's her lungs making space for the baby's big head, haha! But seriously, if it's sudden, severe, with chest pain or a rapid heartbeat, or if you can't even talk, then that's a 'run to the hospital' worry. Normal breathlessness is usually just the baby hogging space.

Arey, pregnancy mein thodi saans phoolna toh normal hai, ho na? Baby andar jagah leta hai. Lekin agar bahut zyada ho, ya chest mein pain ho, ya chakkar aaye, toh fir tension lene ki baat hai. Seedha doctor ke paas jaao, der mat karo.

Breathlessness during pregnancy can be very frightening, and it's totally okay to feel overwhelmed by it. I remember panicking sometimes. If your shortness of breath comes on suddenly, is severe, or accompanied by chest pain, dizziness, or a racing heart, please seek immediate medical attention. Your concerns are valid, and it's important to get checked.

Mild breathlessness is pretty common in pregnancy due to increased blood volume and the uterus pressing on the diaphragm. But if it's sudden, severe, makes you dizzy, or comes with chest pain, palpitations, or coughing, you need to see a doctor right away. Don't wait; these could be signs of something more serious like a clot or heart issue.
