When to worry about high fever?

My temperature shot up to 103°F last night and even after taking paracetamol, it's still hovering around 102°F. I'm feeling very weak and dizzy. When should I be seriously worried about a high fever and consider going to the emergency room?

Agar fever 102°F se upar ho aur do din se zyada rahe, ya agar saath mein saans lene mein takleef, severe body pain, ya rash bhi ho, toh bina soche doctor ke paas jaao. Dimaag mat lagao, sidha doctor!

For kids, if a baby under 3 months has any fever, it's an emergency. For older kids, if it's over 102F and they're very lethargic, difficult to wake, or have a stiff neck, rush them to the hospital. For adults too, any fever above 103F or persistent low-grade fever with other symptoms needs medical attention.

I once ignored a high fever thinking it was just a flu, and it turned out to be dengue. It got quite bad. So, my advice is, if the fever is really high, especially 103F or more, and doesn't respond to basic meds, or if you feel unusually weak, go to a doctor without delay. Get proper diagnosis.

My family often says to use wet cloths and rest for fever, which is good for mild ones. But if the fever is very high, like above 103 degrees Fahrenheit, and it's not coming down with paracetamol, or if you feel very unwell with body aches, chills, or difficulty breathing, please consult a doctor immediately. Don't hesitate.

High fever for more than a day or two means you need to see a doctor. Don't wait until it gets worse because then more tests might be needed, and that costs more money. Better to get a basic checkup and some meds early on. Saves you both health and money in the long run.

High fever indicates the body is fighting something. While rest and light breathing exercises can help with mild fever, if it's consistently above 102, or if you feel extreme discomfort, it's important to seek medical advice. Our body gives us signals, we must listen and respond appropriately, sometimes with professional help.
