When to worry about alt levels in pregnancy?

I'm in my second trimester, and my recent blood test showed slightly elevated ALT levels. My doctor just said they would monitor it, but I'm a bit anxious. At what point during pregnancy should I really start to worry about ALT levels?

Oh, I just went through this! My ALT levels were slightly elevated in my third trimester. My doctor didn't panic for a little rise, but when they started climbing consistently and I also felt more itchy, she got concerned about ICP (intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy). So, definitely, if they're high and you have other symptoms, talk to your doctor immediately. They might need to monitor you closely.

Dekho, pregnancy mein koi bhi blood test result abnormal aaye toh doctor se baat karo, no drama. Specially for ALT levels, if they are significantly higher than normal, ya agar tumhe itching, yellow skin, ya dark urine jaise symptoms hain, toh turant doc ko dikhao. They will tell you if it's serious or not. Don't self-diagnose.

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle, even during pregnancy, is important, and my wife focused on gentle walks and a balanced diet. Regarding ALT levels, minor fluctuations can happen. But if they are significantly elevated, especially with symptoms like severe itching (palms and soles), dark urine, or yellow skin/eyes, then your OB-GYN needs to be informed right away. These aren't things to exercise away.

Elevated ALT levels in pregnancy can indicate liver issues, which can sometimes be serious, especially conditions like preeclampsia or ICP. My friend had a complication that started with abnormal liver function tests. So please, if your doctor says your ALT is high, take it very seriously and follow all their advice, including any further tests or monitoring. Don't ignore it.

Bhai, don't worry unnecessarily, but don't ignore it either. Elevated ALT levels in pregnancy can be due to various reasons, some normal, some needing attention. If your levels are quite high or keep rising, or if you start feeling symptoms like severe itching on your hands and feet, or jaundice, then it's a clear signal to consult your doctor immediately. They'll know exactly what's going on.

Dude, I'm just a college student, so I don't know much about pregnancy specifically. But for any health test, if the levels are outside the normal range, it means something is up. So if your ALT is high, definitely show it to a proper doctor. Don't take chances with health, ya.

Hey, try not to stress too much, but definitely bring up those high ALT levels with your doctor! They're the best people to tell you if it's a concern or just a normal pregnancy fluctuation. If you're feeling really itchy or unwell too, make sure to mention that. Just follow your doc's advice, okay? ❤️
