When to worry about a fever?
My son, who is 8 years old, has a fever of 101F since last night. He's also a bit cranky. At what point should I start worrying and take him to the doctor, or can I manage it at home for some more time?

This is something I always wonder about too! Sometimes a fever just feels like a normal cold coming on, but then other times it feels more serious. It's so hard to know when to actually be concerned and when to just rest it out. Good question to ask!
As someone managing high BP, I've learned that any significant change in body function needs attention. For fever, if it shoots very high (like above 102°F or 39°C), or if it lasts more than 2-3 days despite paracetamol, or if you have other worrying symptoms like severe headache or breathing issues, then definitely see a doctor. Timely checkups are crucial.
My child, a fever is sometimes the body's way of fighting. If it is a mild fever, drink warm water, take some rest, and have light food. Keep positive thoughts. But if the fever is very high, or stays for many days, then it is important to consult a doctor. Take care of yourself.
Please, if your fever is very high (above 102F/39C) or if it's been there for more than 2-3 days without any improvement, you must see a doctor. I once thought it was just a regular fever and ignored it, and it turned into something much worse. Don't take chances with your health, especially with fever. Get it checked.
Honestly, don't rely on random tips from the internet for fever, especially if it's high or persistent. If your fever goes above 102°F, or if you have it for more than 48-72 hours without improvement, or if you're experiencing severe symptoms with it, please just go to a doctor. Self-diagnosing or trying home remedies for something potentially serious can be dangerous.

Yaar, fever toh aata jaata rehta hai. But actually, if it's like 102-103+ degrees Fahrenheit and not coming down with regular medicine, ya if it stays for more than 2-3 days, then it's a good idea to see a doctor. Also, if you're having trouble breathing or severe body pain, don't delay. Bahar ka weather bhi aise hi rehta hai, so be careful!
When to worry about a fever? When it's 3 AM, you're shivering but sweating, and the paracetamol isn't working, and you realize you have an important meeting tomorrow. Jokes aside, if it's really high (like 103+) or lasts more than a couple of days, or comes with crazy body aches, then it's time to call the doc. Else, just pop a paracetamol and try to sleep!
