When to take child to dr for fever?

My child has had a fever since yesterday evening, and it seems to be getting worse. He's also complaining of body ache. When is it crucial to take a child to the doctor for fever, especially if it's not coming down?

Honestly, after the 3rd sleepless night of checking temperature, I usually just take them to the doc! But more seriously, if it's over 102°F and not responding to Crocin, or if they're super drowsy, refusing food, or just looking really miserable, that's my cue. And if they're under 3 months, any fever means a doc visit, no questions asked. Who needs sleep anyway, right?

Beta, when the little one has fever, it needs care. First, you can try giving a cool cloth and some light fluids. But if the fever is very high, say 102 degrees F or more, and not coming down, or if the child is very small (under 3 months) or looks very dull and not playing, then you must take them to the doctor without delay. These new doctors know best now.

For mild fevers, I always prefer cool sponges and plenty of fluids. Sometimes a little tulsi tea helps. But if the fever is persistent and very high (over 102°F/39°C), or if the child is very young (under 3 months old), or showing other serious symptoms like difficulty breathing or extreme lethargy, then absolutely, do not hesitate, see a doctor immediately. Natural is good, but safety first.

When a child has a fever, it's essential to act judiciously. Generally, for an infant under 3 months, any fever warrants an immediate visit to the pediatrician or hospital. For older children, if the fever is very high (above 102°F or 39°C) and persistent, or accompanied by symptoms like severe headache, stiff neck, rash, difficulty breathing, or extreme lethargy, then seek medical attention promptly. Always consult your child's doctor for specific advice.

I've tried everything for my kids' fevers – wet cloth, onion slices, light clothes! But if the fever is very high, like crossing 102°F and not coming down with medicine, or if the child is very young (under 3 months) or seems very sleepy and unwell, then you have to go to the doctor. Don't wait thinking home remedies will fix everything then. Safety comes first.

I remember panicking like anything the first few times my daughter had a fever! But after talking to our pediatrician, I learned a lot. If your baby is under 3 months and has *any* fever, just go. For older kids, if the fever is really high (above 102°F) and they're not playing or eating, or seem very listless, then it's time for the doctor. Otherwise, sometimes it's just a normal viral thing that passes. Don't get too stressed, but be observant!
