When to stop topical tretinoin before pregnancy?

I've been using topical Tretinoin for my acne, and we're planning to try for a baby soon. Someone told me I need to stop using it well before conception. How long before pregnancy should I stop topical tretinoin?

Honestly, I totally understand your worry about tretinoin. I was so scared I’d messed things up for my baby even before I conceived. It’s a huge mental load to carry, but talking to your gynae helps so much, they will guide you.

Hey, relax thoda. Most doctors recommend stopping retinoids a month or so before you start trying to conceive. Just inform your doctor about your plans, and they will give you the right advice for your situation. Don't stress too much.

Haan na, yeh sab skin products ka darr toh lagta hi hai. Mere doc ne toh bola tha jab plan kar rahe ho tabhi band kar do. Safe side pe rehte hain na, better to be careful than sorry. Ghar pe sab bolte hain dhyan rakho.

Simple rule hai, doc ne bola tha ki jaise hi you start planning for baby, stop all such strong creams. Tretinoin is a big no-no during pregnancy. Better to be safe and use milder products. Don't take chances.

For skincare and pregnancy planning, I usually cross-reference with medical guidelines online. Most sources suggest stopping tretinoin at least a month before trying. Some even say two months, just to be super safe. Consult your dermatologist and gynecologist for a personalized plan.

Oh, the anxiety around this is so real, I felt the same way! I was worried about every little thing. My doctor told me to stop it as soon as we decided to try for a baby, ideally a month or two before. It's best to discuss your specific timeline with your gynaecologist.
