When to stop rocking baby to sleep?

My baby is 8 months old and always needs to be rocked to sleep. My husband says we should stop now so she learns to sleep independently, but I'm not sure when is the right time to do that.

As a working parent, establishing independent sleep early is a lifesaver. We started trying to put our baby down drowsy but awake around 4-6 months. It takes effort, but you gradually reduce the rocking. It's about consistency.

Rocking is free, but endless nights mean less productivity, which eventually costs! We tried to cut back around 6 months when our baby started rolling. It's a phase-out process, not a sudden stop. Look up some gentle sleep training methods.

It's natural to rock your baby, but it's also a habit. For their independent sleep development, it's generally advised to start transitioning around 4-6 months. Always check with your pediatrician for age-appropriate sleep guidance.

My older sister just had a baby, and she stopped rocking him around 6 months. She said it was hard but necessary so he could learn to sleep on his own. It's all about making them self-soothe, I guess.

Oh man, we rocked our firstborn for way too long and it was a battle later! My wife regretted not starting to transition earlier. So, my advice, don't wait until they're much older. Start gently breaking the habit around 4-6 months, maybe read up on sleep cues.

Aww, rocking is so sweet! 🥰 But eventually you'll want them to sleep solo. Most parents start reducing rocking around 4-6 months, gradually. It's a journey, not a switch! You'll get there! 😊
