When to stop glp-1 before pregnancy?

I'm on a GLP-1 medication for weight management and also planning to start a family soon. My doctor said I need to stop it before pregnancy, but I'm not clear on the timeline for discontinuing it.

This is a serious medication, so you absolutely need to consult your endocrinologist and gynecologist. They will give you a specific timeline based on the GLP-1 you're on and your overall health. Don't guess with pregnancy meds.

Good question, these meds are not cheap, and neither are pregnancy complications! Best to plan this well in advance with your doctor. They might need you to be off it for a few weeks or even months before trying to conceive to ensure no residual effects.

Oh, I remember panicking about every single medication before my pregnancy! But honestly, your doctor will give you very clear instructions. Just follow their guidance carefully. It's totally normal to stop certain meds when planning a baby.

Hey, it's really good you're thinking about this beforehand. This isn't something you should decide on your own. Talk to your doctor, they'll make sure everything is safe for you and the baby. Don't stress too much, just follow expert advice.

Alongside what your doctor advises for medication, focus on a very healthy diet too. Sometimes, a balanced vegetarian diet can help manage blood sugar. But for the GLP-1, only your doctor can tell you the right time to stop.

Ugh, this kind of planning always makes me overthink every tiny detail! But for medications and pregnancy, it's non-negotiable to get direct doctor's orders. Make a detailed list of questions and ask them. They'll have a specific protocol.
