When to start dates in pregnancy?

I'm in my first trimester and read online that eating dates can help with labor. When is it safe to start including dates in my diet during pregnancy, and is there a specific amount recommended?

I just delivered recently, and my gynaecologist recommended starting dates for better labor from around 36 weeks onwards. She said about 6-7 dates a day. They're supposed to help ripen the cervix! But always check with your own doctor first, as every pregnancy is different.

While dates are natural and generally healthy, especially in pregnancy, it's always best to consult your doctor before introducing any new food item in significant quantities. Especially for those with gestational diabetes or other conditions, it's important to monitor sugar intake. Many suggest starting them closer to term, like 36 weeks, but a doctor's advice specific to your health is crucial.

Haan, dates are very good for energy na? For pregnancy, I've heard many doctors suggest starting them in the last month, like from 36th week onwards. They say it helps with labor. But pakka apne doctor se puch lo before starting anything new.

I'm not a doctor, so I can't give medical advice on this. But from my own pregnancy, my doctor suggested dates from the 36th week. She advised eating a few every day. It's always best to ask your gynaecologist directly for personalized advice for your health.

I totally get wanting to do everything naturally for a good delivery! Dates are often suggested for late pregnancy to help with cervical ripening. Most common advice I've heard is to start from week 36, having about 6-7 dates a day. But it's super important to confirm with your own doctor, as they know your specific health situation best.
