When to get rhogam shot during pregnancy?

My gynecologist mentioned I might need a Rhogam shot during pregnancy because of my blood type. When exactly is this shot usually given during pregnancy? I want to be prepared.

Hey, don't stress about the RhoGAM shot. If you're Rh-negative, it's a standard procedure to protect your baby. Your doctor will typically administer it around 28 weeks of pregnancy, and then again after delivery if your baby is Rh-positive. Also, if there's any bleeding or trauma during pregnancy, you might need it sooner. Just follow your doctor's exact instructions, they'll guide you perfectly.

Having dealt with thyroid issues, I know how important it is to be vigilant with all medical advice during pregnancy. For the RhoGAM shot, if you are Rh-negative, your doctor will usually schedule it around 28 weeks, and then again within 72 hours after birth if the baby is Rh-positive. Make sure you discuss your blood type with your doctor early on and keep all your appointments for these crucial injections.

My doctor explained this in detail. If your blood type is Rh-negative and your baby's father is Rh-positive, you'll need the RhoGAM shot. The first dose is typically given at 28 weeks of gestation. You'll also need another dose within 72 hours after delivery if your baby turns out to be Rh-positive. Additionally, if there's any potential mixing of blood, like after an amniocentesis, miscarriage, or trauma, a shot might be needed earlier. It's crucial for preventing complications in future pregnancies.

I just had my baby a few months ago and I'm Rh-negative! My gynaecologist gave me the RhoGAM shot when I was exactly 28 weeks pregnant. Then, after delivery, my baby turned out to be Rh-positive, so I got another shot within 72 hours. It's a very routine thing, so don't worry. Just make sure your doctor knows your blood type.

Yay for taking care of yourself and baby! 🥰 If you're Rh-negative, the RhoGAM shot is super important. Usually, doctors give it around the 28th week of pregnancy. Sometimes you might need it earlier if there's any spotting or a procedure. Always best to chat with your gynaecologist, they'll tell you the exact schedule! You're doing great! ✨
