When should swelling during pregnancy be a concern?

I'm in my second trimester, and my feet and ankles have started to swell quite a bit, especially by evening. Is this normal during pregnancy, or when should I be concerned about the swelling?

Yes, this is important. If the swelling comes on suddenly or affects your face/hands, definitely talk to your doctor right away.

Listen, normal swelling in feet and ankles is common. But agar it’s sudden, severe, ya fir with headache and vision changes, no time to wait, see the doctor immediately. Don’t take chances.

Usually some swelling is normal, but my doc said if it's too much, especially with high BP, then it could be pre-eclampsia. Best to get checkups regularly; a few tests are better than major issues later, which can be super expensive to manage.

Honestly, I had a lot of swelling in my feet during my wife's second pregnancy and we totally freaked out. But the doctor said it was normal. Key thing is to check for sudden swelling, especially in face or hands, and other symptoms like headaches. Else, relax thoda.

My gynaecologist at Apollo Hospital was very clear: mild swelling is okay. But if it's sudden, severe, or accompanied by headache, blurry vision, or pain in the upper abdomen, then it's an emergency. Always call your doctor or go to a good hospital.
