When should i be worried about itching during pregnancy?

I'm in my third trimester, and my skin has started to feel really itchy, especially on my stomach and hands. I'm using moisturizer, but it's not helping much. When should I be worried about itching during pregnancy and contact my doctor?

I once thought constant itching was just dry skin, but it turned out to be something else. During pregnancy, if the itching is severe, especially on your palms and soles of your feet, and worse at night, you MUST get it checked by your doctor. It could be a sign of obstetric cholestasis, which is serious for the baby. Don't ignore it like I did my other symptoms!

My wife had really bad itching during her second pregnancy, especially on her hands and feet at night. Our doctor immediately did a blood test and found it was a liver condition. So, if the itching is severe, widespread, or especially on palms/soles, and not getting better with moisturizers, please see your doctor immediately. Better to be safe for both mom and baby.

Listen, little bit of itching is normal with stretching skin. But if it's full-body, severe, no rash, especially palms and soles, and keeps you awake at night? That's not normal. Go to the doctor ASAP. Don't take chances during pregnancy.

Even though mild itching is sometimes common in pregnancy, I've learned with PCOS to be cautious about any persistent symptoms. If the itching is severe, particularly on the palms and soles, and you don't see a rash, or if it's worse at night, it's definitely something to bring up with your doctor. It could be more than just dry skin.

Oh, this would make me so anxious! I'd be worried if the itching was all over, super intense, felt really deep, and especially if it was on my hands and feet without a rash. My mind would immediately go to something serious like cholestasis. So yes, if it's more than mild irritation, I'd definitely call the doctor to rule out anything risky.

My friend's sister was pregnant and had this. She said normal itching on the belly is fine, but if it's really bad, like, everywhere, especially hands and feet, and mainly at night without a rash, then it's a serious sign. Her doc checked her liver. So yeah, if it's intense, just call the doctor, dude.

While mild itching is a common pregnancy discomfort, you absolutely should be worried if the itching is severe, constant, widespread, or particularly affects the palms of your hands and soles of your feet, especially without a visible rash, and is worse at night. These symptoms could indicate obstetric cholestasis, which requires immediate medical evaluation. Always get it checked for safety.

As someone who manages diabetes, I know symptoms can sometimes be subtle. While some itching can be normal during pregnancy, you should be very worried if it's severe, widespread, especially on the palms and soles, and doesn't come with a rash. This could be a sign of obstetric cholestasis, which needs immediate medical attention for both your health and the baby's. Don't self-treat, see your doctor.
