When is a child too old to sleep with parents?
My son is turning 7 soon and still wants to sleep in our bed sometimes, especially when he's scared. My wife thinks he's too old now, but I'm not so sure. What is the right age to make them sleep alone?

Honestly, when they start asking for late-night snacks in your bed, that's when it's time! 😉 Kidding aside, every family is different, but I think after 5-6 years, it's good for them to have their own space. More room for me to spread out and enjoy my chai in the morning!
Yaar, this is a tough one, no? Actually, I think it depends on the kid and the parents. Some kids naturally want their own bed by 4-5, some stay till 8-9. My cousin's kid is 7 and still sleeps with them sometimes, but then she also has her own room. So, thoda flexible rehta hai.
From what I've seen in joint families, kids naturally drift to their own beds around age 6-7, especially if they have siblings to share a room with. It's about slowly getting them used to their own space. If they have any major sleep issues then best to ask a pediatrician.
There's no fixed age, really. It's more about when both the child and parents feel comfortable with the transition. Often, by 5-7 years, children develop a sense of independence and are ready for their own room. Just make sure the move is gentle and supportive for them.
For us, it was around 6-7 years old. We made a big deal about their new 'big kid' bed and decorated their room. It helped them feel excited. Consistency is key, even if they try to sneak back sometimes. A separate bed for them ultimately gives everyone better sleep.

Too old? For me, it was when their feet started reaching my head and I couldn't stretch anymore! 😂 Honestly, when you value your sleep and personal space more than cuddling, that's your sign. Usually, I'd say after 5-6 is a good time to encourage their own bed.
