When does pregnancy start counting?

My doctor calculated my due date from my last period, but I thought pregnancy starts later. When does pregnancy officially start counting from a medical perspective?

Oh, I was so confused about this too and even panicked why I was '2 weeks pregnant' before I even conceived! But yes, they calculate it from the first day of your Last Menstrual Period (LMP). It's totally normal, just how the medical system works.

It starts counting from the first day of your last menstrual period. This is standard for doctors. Just like keeping an eye on BP regularly, tracking your dates from the start is very important for proper prenatal care. Make sure your doctor has accurate info.

For women with regular cycles, it's typically counted from the first day of the last menstrual period (LMP). However, if you have irregular periods, like with PCOS, dating might be adjusted with an early ultrasound. It's best to confirm with your doctor based on your specific situation.

Haan, haan, this confusion is very common, child. They always calculate from the first day of your last period. It used to confuse me too, but that's how they keep track of everything for the baby's growth. Don't stress, just follow the doctor's calendar.

My elders always told me that true life begins when the soul enters, but for doctors, the count starts from the last cycle. For proper dating, it's always best to get an early scan done. Home remedies are good for small things, but this is a doctor's domain.

My wife's doctor always started counting from her last period. So even before we officially knew, the clock was ticking. It seems like the standard way they calculate the weeks.

It's counted from the first day of your last period. That's the usual way to calculate the weeks.

Yeah, it's from the first day of your last period, which feels weird, right? I was already 4 weeks along when I found out! My first ultrasound confirmed the due date based on that calculation. It's just how they do it.
