Nausea and vomiting can start quite early, some women feel it as early as 4-6 weeks. I had hyperemesis gravidarum in my first pregnancy, which was very severe. If your symptoms are really bad or you can't keep anything down, please see your doctor immediately, don't suffer in silence.
My gynaecologist explained that nausea and vomiting often begin around the 5th or 6th week of pregnancy, as the HCG hormone levels start to rise significantly. It's a very common early pregnancy symptom. She advised to eat small, frequent meals.
I totally get it, that initial nausea can be really unsettling! For most, it kicks in around the 6th week of pregnancy. It's a tough phase, but remember you're not alone. Hang in there and keep your doctor informed.
From my experience, it usually starts around the 6-week mark. The trick is to never let your stomach get completely empty – keep some crackers by your bed and eat a few before even getting up. Also, ginger lozenges helped me a lot. It will pass!

I'm also new to this, so trying to understand. I heard it can start really early, like 4-5 weeks? Is it always 'morning' sickness or can it happen anytime during the day?
It's completely normal to feel anxious about when these symptoms might start! For many, it's around 6 weeks. I kept worrying if I was feeling it enough or too much. Just know that every pregnancy is different, but if you're really concerned, talk to your doctor.
