When does milk start coming in pregnancy?

My mother keeps asking me if my milk has started coming in yet, and I'm not sure what to tell her. When does milk typically start coming in during pregnancy? I'm still some time away from my due date.

Hey, so my cousin was pregnant recently, and she said it's like, in the second trimester, around 16 weeks, your body starts making this first milk called colostrum. But you might not actually see it until way later, or even after the baby is born. So no need to stress if nothing's happening yet!

Oh, milk production! While our bodies are busy with all that, I'm just here thinking about my next sweet craving! 😉 But seriously, the first stage milk, colostrum, can start forming around the second trimester. Just another amazing thing your body does!

From my recent experience, I learned that the body technically starts producing colostrum from around the 16th week of pregnancy. I didn't actually notice any leakage until my third trimester, and even then, it was just a few drops. So it can vary a lot for each person.

As someone with PCOS, I've always been careful about tracking these things. Typically, colostrum starts being produced around the second trimester, maybe 16-20 weeks. But it's not a hard and fast rule, and everyone's body is different. Just listen to your doctor and don't compare too much.

Milk coming in? Man, my wife just had a baby, and I swear her body started doing things I never knew existed from day one. But yeah, colostrum starts forming mid-pregnancy. She was mostly tired though, like me now. Give us sleep, not milk, first!

The body begins making colostrum, the pre-milk, around the second trimester. Don't rush to buy expensive breast pads or pumps. See if you actually leak first. Focus on a nutritious, affordable diet; that's more crucial for milk quality than any fancy product.
