When does heartburn start in pregnancy?

Since last week, I've been experiencing a burning sensation in my throat and chest after eating, which is new for me. I'm pregnant and a bit worried. When does heartburn typically start in pregnancy?

Beti, heartburn can trouble many women during pregnancy. For some, it starts early, in the first trimester itself, and for others, a bit later. My grandmother always suggested a bit of saunf (fennel seeds) after meals, but do check with your doctor for what is best for you.

Yeah, my cousin sister had really bad heartburn when she was pregnant. She said it started pretty early, like within the first three months, and it got worse and worse. She hated spicy food then, which was a big deal for her, haha.

Heartburn can begin gently in the first trimester for some, intensifying as the pregnancy progresses. It's often due to the body's natural changes. Simple practices like eating mindfully, smaller portions, and avoiding lying down immediately after food can offer relief. Gentle breathing exercises can also help calm the digestive system.

Heartburn can really sneak up on you during pregnancy. It often starts in the first trimester, but some women feel it more strongly later. It's important to manage it, as persistent discomfort can affect your well-being. Don't spend money on too many fancy remedies; simple dietary changes usually work, and consult your doctor for safe, budget-friendly options.
