When does heartbeat begin in pregnancy?

I just found out I'm pregnant and I'm so excited! My sister was telling me about hearing the baby's heartbeat for the first time. I'm curious, when does the heartbeat usually start in pregnancy?

Beti, usually the tiny heartbeat starts very early, around 5-6 weeks from your last period. My daughter heard it first around then with her first child. It's a beautiful sound, don't worry.

Most doctors say the fetal heartbeat can be detected by ultrasound around 5-6 weeks of pregnancy, counting from the first day of your last menstrual period. Don't stress too much if it's not heard exactly then; sometimes it takes a week or two more. It's a common thing.

As someone with PCOS, I've learned that every pregnancy journey is a bit unique. Generally, the heartbeat is visible on an ultrasound around 5 to 6 weeks, but it's not always precise. Don't worry if it's a little later; my doctor always told me to be patient and follow her advice.

Okay, so typically, the fetal heartbeat can be detected by about 6 weeks into your pregnancy, sometimes even 5. I saw it on the ultrasound with both my kids around that time. It's very tiny but such a milestone! If you're going for your first scan, they'll check for it.

Listen, for something as important as this, please don't rely on guesswork. The fetal heartbeat usually starts very early, by 6 weeks. But every pregnancy is different. Don't ignore symptoms or delays in seeing a doctor. Go for your checkup and let the doctor confirm it. I regret not being more careful with some things earlier.

I'm just starting to learn about all this. So, if it's around 6 weeks, is it always audible, or just visible on the scan? And does it feel different inside you when it starts?
