When does acid reflux start in pregnancy?

I've been feeling a lot of heartburn recently, especially after meals. Someone told me this is common in pregnancy, but I thought it usually happens later. When does acid reflux typically start during pregnancy?

Oh, the heartburn! I remember it started for me around the second trimester, but for some, it's even earlier, like first trimester only. Smaller, more frequent meals helped me a lot, and avoiding spicy food at night. It's tough, I know.

Reflux can hit anytime, even early on. It's often hormonal. Try to keep your diet clean, avoid overly greasy or acidic stuff. And small, frequent meals are better than big ones. Light walks post-meal might also help digestion.

For me, it started pretty early, around 8-10 weeks, and it was rough especially when I had to sit in meetings. I found avoiding coffee and fizzy drinks, and eating dinner much earlier, made a noticeable difference. You just have to figure out your triggers.

Ayyo, acid reflux is very common. My mother always said to chew fennel seeds after food. For some, it starts early, around 1st trimester. For others, later. Always speak to your doctor if it becomes very uncomfortable, they can suggest safe options.

Haan, many women experience acid reflux even in the first trimester, but it often gets worse in the second and third trimesters as the baby grows and presses on the stomach. Eating slowly and avoiding late-night meals can give some relief. Talk to your doc if it's too much.
