When do you start to produce milk during pregnancy?

My delivery is still a few months away, but I'm thinking about breastfeeding. When does the body actually begin producing milk during pregnancy? Just curious about the process.

You actually start producing colostrum (the first milk) quite early, often in the second trimester, around 16-20 weeks. Don't worry if you don't notice anything or if you do see a little leakage. It's all normal preparation. Just make sure to wear nursing pads if it's bothering you.

Many women start producing colostrum in the second trimester, sometimes even earlier. While it's generally a normal sign, if you notice any unusual discharge or pain, it's always best to consult your doctor just to be safe. My friend had some issues, so it's better to be cautious.

So, you actually start making a special milk called colostrum in your breasts pretty early, sometimes even around 16 weeks! It's like your body is already getting ready for the baby. Don't be surprised if you notice a few drops.

My older sister said she started seeing something like yellowish liquid from her breasts around the middle of her pregnancy, like 5-6 months. She freaked out but the doctor said it was totally fine, just colostrum.

With PCOS, sometimes hormonal fluctuations can affect things, but generally, colostrum production starts around the second trimester, even 16 weeks onwards. If you have concerns, especially related to your PCOS, it's always good to check with your Gynae. Don't assume anything based on internet searches.

Colostrum, the preliminary milk, can start forming as early as the second trimester, often between 16 and 20 weeks. Some women might even notice small amounts leaking. It's your body's natural preparation for breastfeeding, and it's completely normal.

I remember seeing colostrum around 20 weeks and it felt so strange, almost alien. It's okay to feel a bit overwhelmed or emotional about these changes your body goes through. It's a big journey.

My wife actually started leaking a little bit around her sixth month, and we thought something was wrong! Our doctor laughed and said it was perfectly normal, just her body getting ready. So don't worry if you see it, it's a good sign!

I started noticing a clear fluid around 20 weeks and got really worried! Is that normal? It was just a few drops here and there. Did anyone else experience this so early?

Many women start producing colostrum in the second trimester, sometimes as early as 16 weeks. It's a natural process. If there's any discomfort or unusual color, always see a doctor, but a clear or yellowish fluid is usually normal.

Yeah, usually your body starts producing colostrum, which is like the 'first milk', around 4-5 months into your pregnancy. It's completely normal if you see some yellowish or clear fluid. It just means your mammary glands are doing their job.
