When do you begin lactating during pregnancy?

My first pregnancy is making me anxious about everything! I heard some women start lactating before delivery. When does this usually happen during pregnancy, is it normal?

My wife didn't lactate much during pregnancy itself, but right after delivery. What I learned is staying hydrated and eating well is always good, whether for you or for the baby later. It helps your body prepare for everything.

Oh, it's different for everyone! 😊 Some women might notice a little colostrum (which is the first milk) leaking in the last trimester, around 7-9 months. But actual milk production usually starts after the baby is born. Don't worry if nothing happens before that, it's totally normal! ✨

With my wife, she only started properly after delivery. Before that, maybe a tiny bit of colostrum in the last month, that too not always. Don't stress too much about it during pregnancy. The main lactation starts when the baby comes and stimulates it.

Haan, sometimes last trimester mein thoda bohot discharge hota hai, woh colostrum hota hai. Actual milk toh baby paida hone ke baad hi aata hai. Na bhi aaye toh tension mat lena, it's all natural. Sabka body alag hota hai.

I'm 30 weeks and sometimes I feel a bit of wetness but nothing significant. Is that normal? I keep worrying if my body is preparing enough. Did anyone else experience just a little bit of leaking late in pregnancy?

Generally, it's post-delivery when the body truly gets into milk production. Sometimes a bit of colostrum can leak in the third trimester. If you're concerned or have any pain, always talk to your doctor. For general health, good food and rest work wonders.

Most women begin producing colostrum, which is the pre-milk, in the third trimester. Actual lactation usually starts 2-3 days after birth. Don't overthink it, your body knows what to do. Focus on your prenatal appointments and rest.

Trust in your body's wisdom, dear. It prepares itself beautifully. Often, the first milk, colostrum, can appear in the later months, but the full flow begins after delivery. Stay calm, positive, and nurture yourself and the little one within.
