When do pcos symptoms start?

My periods have been very irregular lately and I'm worried it might be PCOS, as my sister has it. I've heard about various symptoms, but I'm curious, when do PCOS symptoms typically begin for most people?

I remember panicking when my periods became super irregular in my late teens, and I also gained weight suddenly. Thought something was seriously wrong. Turns out, it was PCOS, and many women start seeing symptoms around puberty or early adulthood. So it's quite normal for it to show up then, just need proper diagnosis.

I'm not sure if I have PCOS, but I've been having irregular periods since I was 16. Is that a common symptom? And what other things should I watch out for if it starts in the teenage years?

PCOS symptoms often start to appear during a girl's teenage years, usually after puberty. Irregular periods, acne, and weight gain are common. It's important to monitor these and consult a doctor, as PCOS also increases the risk of insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes later, so diet and lifestyle management are crucial from early on.

My sister started getting really bad acne and her periods were all over the place when she was like 15-16. That's when her doctor said it could be PCOS. So yeah, I guess it starts pretty young for some girls.

It's totally valid to feel anxious when you notice new health symptoms, especially something like this. PCOS symptoms often start during teenage years, like with periods becoming wonky, or sudden weight changes. It's confusing, I know. Just know that you're not alone, and it's good you're asking. See a doctor for sure.

For many young women, the first signs of PCOS emerge around adolescence, often with the onset of irregular menstrual cycles. Listen to your body and observe any changes. Gentle practices like yoga and pranayama, alongside medical guidance, can be supportive for managing symptoms and finding inner balance.

My gynaecologist explained that PCOS symptoms commonly begin during puberty, or sometimes in the early 20s. Key indicators include irregular periods, excess androgen (leading to acne and hirsutism), and polycystic ovaries on ultrasound. It's a complex endocrine disorder, so a thorough diagnosis is important.

PCOS symptoms often start appearing in the late teens or early twenties, with irregular periods being a big red flag. For anyone dealing with this, it's not just about periods, lifestyle also plays a huge role. Good diet, exercise and regular checkups are key, especially to monitor other related conditions like blood pressure.
