When do liver spots appear?
I've started noticing some dark spots on my hands and face recently. My wife calls them 'liver spots'. At what age do these liver spots typically begin to appear?

Liver spots, huh? I thought those were just for people who ate too much butter chicken! 😂 Kidding aside, I hear they're mostly about sun exposure and age, not really about the liver itself. Guess my love for outdoors might bring them sooner than later!
Oh, I remember panicking when I first noticed some on my hands! I thought it was something serious with my liver. But then my dermatologist reassured me they're just sun spots or age spots, mostly appearing as you get older, typically after 40 or 50, especially if you've spent a lot of time in the sun. Totally normal, don't worry!
Those 'liver spots' are actually age spots or sun spots, scientifically called solar lentigines. They usually start showing up after 40, especially if you have fair skin or a history of significant sun exposure. I've had them. Best way to prevent more is to use good sunscreen daily. For existing ones, consult a dermatologist, there are treatments.
Bete, these spots, we call them 'buddhape ke nishan' (signs of old age). They come as you grow older, especially if you spend a lot of time in the dhoop (sun). My dadi used to say apply a little malai (cream) and haldi (turmeric) paste for skin issues, but for these, just keep your skin moisturized and protected from sun.
Ah, the mysterious liver spots! They seem to pop up around the time you start appreciating early bird discounts and complaining about your back. 😂 Joking aside, they're typically just sun damage showing up later in life, usually after 40 or 50. Not actually from your liver! So, sunscreen up!

My grandmother has a few, and she's in her 70s. She always said it's just 'old age spots' and nothing to worry about. They seem to appear with age and sun exposure. I haven't seen them on younger people myself.
