When did pregnancy tests come out?

My friend is trying to conceive and she was wondering about the reliability of home pregnancy tests. It got me thinking, when did these kinds of tests become widely available to people?

That's a really interesting question, and it's normal to wonder about these things! Early forms of pregnancy testing have actually been around for centuries, using animal urine and stuff, but modern home pregnancy tests became widely available in the late 1970s. Imagine the anxiety before that!

Hey! Don't stress too much about the exact date. What's cool is that modern home pregnancy tests, the ones we use now, really became a thing in the late 70s. Before that, it was all lab tests and guessing games. So glad we have them now, right?

I heard modern home tests came out around the late 70s. It's great to have such quick confirmations. I once ignored some symptoms and regretted it. So, if there's any doubt or if the home test is unclear, always go to a doctor for a proper checkup, please.

Early pregnancy tests were quite rudimentary, even using rabbits or frogs! The first home pregnancy test kit was approved by the FDA in the US in 1976. So, the convenience of testing at home has been around for about 50 years. They've definitely evolved since then!
