When can you hear a heartbeat in pregnancy?

I just found out I'm pregnant and I'm so excited! We have our first ultrasound next week. When can you usually hear a baby's heartbeat during pregnancy? I'm so eager to hear it for the first time.

My sister just had a baby, and I remember them hearing the heartbeat super early! Like, during her first ultrasound, around 6 weeks. It was tiny but clear. It's pretty cool to hear, really makes it feel real for the first time.

It's all about development, just like building muscle or improving stamina! The baby's heart starts beating super early, but you can usually hear it on an ultrasound around 6 weeks. Don't stress too much if it's not audible right at 6 weeks, sometimes it's a bit later depending on equipment and position. Just keep up with your doctor appointments.

My doctor explained that typically, a fetal heartbeat can be detected by a transvaginal ultrasound as early as 5.5 to 6 weeks gestation. With an abdominal ultrasound, it might be a bit later, usually around 6.5 to 7 weeks. For a Doppler by your doctor, it's usually between 10-12 weeks. So, don't worry if you don't hear it super early with a regular checkup.

I totally get that anxious wait to hear the heartbeat, it's such a big moment! Usually, with a transvaginal ultrasound, you can hear it as early as 5.5 to 6 weeks. If it's an abdominal ultrasound, it might be closer to 6.5 or 7 weeks. Sometimes it takes a little longer, so try not to worry too much if it's not heard exactly at 6 weeks.

Don't worry too much, little sister. The baby's heartbeat can usually be seen on an ultrasound around 6 weeks from your last menstrual period. Sometimes it might take a week or so longer, depending on when conception happened and the ultrasound machine. Just follow your doctor's appointments, they will guide you perfectly. It's a beautiful moment when you hear it for the first time.
