When can i start pumping during pregnancy?

I'm pregnant with my first baby and I'm thinking about breastfeeding. Someone told me it's good to start pumping before the baby arrives. When is the right time to start pumping during pregnancy? I don't want to do it too early or too late.

Seriously, don't listen to any random advice on this. Pumping during pregnancy could potentially be risky, leading to early labor in some cases. Please, talk to your gynecologist before trying anything like this. They are the experts, not some internet forum.

Hmm, usually pumping is for after the baby comes, to help with milk supply or if you need to store milk. During pregnancy, it's generally not recommended because it can sometimes stimulate contractions. For anything pregnancy-related, it's always safest to ask your doctor. They know your case best.

This is something you absolutely need to discuss with your gynecologist. Every pregnancy is different, and they'll advise what's safe for you.

It's natural to think about milk supply and preparing for feeding, I felt a lot of pressure around it too. But usually, health professionals recommend against pumping during pregnancy as it might induce labor. Please, reach out to your OB-GYN, they can give you personalized advice and ease your mind.

Yaar, actually, it's generally advised *not* to pump while you're still pregnant. It can trigger uterine contractions, which you definitely don't want unless you're full term and trying to induce labor. Best to discuss with your doctor, they'll guide you properly.

My doctor specifically advised me against pumping or any nipple stimulation during pregnancy until about 37 weeks, and even then, only if there was a medical reason like gestational diabetes or history of low milk supply, and strictly under supervision. The reason is that nipple stimulation releases oxytocin, which can cause uterine contractions. So, definitely talk to your doctor before even thinking about it.

Oh, you want to add pumping to the list of pregnancy joys? Haha. Jokes aside, most doctors say no pumping before the baby comes, unless there's a specific medical reason and they tell you to. Trust me, you'll have enough sleepless nights to pump *after* the baby, no need to start early!
