When can i sleep without brace after acl surgery?

I had ACL surgery a couple of months back and I'm still sleeping with this brace on. It's so bulky and uncomfortable. When is it usually safe to sleep without the brace after ACL reconstruction? I'm really looking forward to a comfortable sleep.

After ACL surgery, wearing the brace while sleeping is non-negotiable for the first few weeks, usually 4-6. It's about protecting the graft. You'll probably be cleared by your surgeon based on your progress, but expect to be in it for a solid month minimum. Don't rush it, re-injury is a major setback.

ACL recovery is such a mental game, I really feel for you. Having to sleep with a brace is definitely tough and restrictive. Your surgeon will tell you when it's safe to ditch it at night, but expect it to be a few weeks, maybe even a couple of months. Hang in there, it gets better!

For something as critical as ACL recovery, you absolutely must follow your orthopedic surgeon's specific instructions. Generally, the brace is worn during sleep for the first 4-6 weeks, or even longer, to protect the newly reconstructed ligament. Please, get it checked with your doctor directly; don't risk re-injury.

Hey, don't stress too much about the brace, I know it's a pain! But after ACL surgery, it's super important for your knee's stability. Your doc will tell you when you can finally ditch it for sleeping, but expect it to be a good few weeks, maybe even a couple of months. Just follow their lead, okay? Your knee will thank you later!

My friend had ACL surgery, and she had to wear that brace while sleeping for what felt like ages, definitely more than a month! Her surgeon said it was really important to protect the knee while it was healing. So, stick to what your doctor says, it's for your own good!
