What to take for menopause weight gain?

Since my periods stopped a few years back, I've noticed I'm putting on weight, especially around my tummy. It's becoming really hard to lose, even with walking every day. What can I do about this menopause weight gain?

Honestly, I was so worried about this too, like the weight just piled on from nowhere. But then my gynaecologist explained it's quite common during menopause due to hormonal shifts. Don't panic too much, a balanced diet and regular walks really help.

For me, managing weight is always linked to my BP. So I try to keep an eye on what I eat and exercise. For menopause weight gain, it's even more important to get regular checkups with your doctor, they can guide you best based on your overall health.

Beta, don't worry too much, this is a very natural part of life. We all went through it. Just try to eat home-cooked food, walk every day if you can, and don't take too much stress. Your body is changing, be kind to it.

I was in the same boat just last year! What really helped me was cutting down on refined carbs and doing yoga consistently. Also, staying hydrated throughout the day made a big change in how I felt overall, not just weight wise.

From a diet perspective, focusing on plant-based protein, lots of fiber from fruits and veggies, and healthy fats is super important. Avoid anything too processed or high in sugar. These changes make a huge difference, not just for weight but for overall health.

Weight gain can also be connected to thyroid issues, which can sometimes fluctuate during menopause. I'd suggest getting your thyroid levels checked regularly. Always good to discuss with your doctor if they think any hormonal imbalances other than menopause could be contributing.

As a diabetic, I am very careful about my diet, especially sugars and processed foods. When it comes to weight gain during menopause, focusing on whole foods, lots of veggies, and lean protein really helps. And portion control, very important!

This is something I'm starting to notice too, feeling a bit lost with it all. Is there anything specific, like particular foods, that everyone avoids or includes? Just trying to understand more.

My doctor explained that during menopause, estrogen levels drop, which can lead to fat accumulation, especially around the abdomen. She suggested a mix of strength training and cardio, along with a diet rich in calcium and vitamin D. It’s not just about eating less, but eating right and staying active.
