What to feed sick child vomiting?

My 3-year-old is vomiting a lot and can't keep anything down. I'm worried about dehydration. What can I feed him that won't upset his stomach further, or what kind of liquids should I give him to keep him hydrated? Ghar pe kya de sakte hain?

Oh, it's so heartbreaking when your child is sick and vomiting, I totally get that helpless feeling. Don't force them to eat anything. Focus on small sips of ORS (Oral Rehydration Solution) or clear fluids to prevent dehydration. Food can wait till they feel better and ask for it.

Keep it super bland and light! Think clear liquids like ORS, sips of water, or diluted apple juice. 🍎 Once the vomiting stops for a few hours, maybe some plain toast or rice gruel. Don't rush it! Sending strength! ✨

The main thing is to prevent dehydration. Give small, frequent sips of ORS or water. If they tolerate that, you can try a little plain rice water or very diluted clear soup. Avoid anything oily, spicy, or milky for a while. Patience is key.

Just focus on giving small sips of water or ORS to prevent dehydration. Don't force them to eat. Bland foods like plain rice or toast can be introduced very slowly once the vomiting stops.

If your child is vomiting a lot, especially if they are very young or showing signs of dehydration like no tears or dry mouth, please see a doctor immediately. Don't just try home remedies. For food, usually clear fluids like ORS in small sips are recommended, but medical advice is paramount if it's severe.

When a child is vomiting, should I really avoid milk products completely? And for how long after the vomiting stops should I stick to only bland foods? I'm worried about them not getting enough nutrients.

It's completely natural to feel anxious when your child is sick and throwing up. It's a scary sight. The best thing is to offer sips of ORS frequently, like a spoon every few minutes, to keep them hydrated. Don't worry about food for a few hours, hydration is the priority. And call your pediatrician if it continues.

My son had a terrible bout of vomiting recently. The doctor told me to give only ORS for the first 4-6 hours, little sips at a time. Then, if he kept it down, I could try a tiny bit of plain idli or very thin dal khichdi. No milk for at least 24 hours. Hydration is key!
