What system is affected by removal of the thyroid gland?

My neighbour had his thyroid removed last month. I was wondering, if the thyroid gland is taken out, which major body system is primarily affected by that? Just curious about how it works.

When the thyroid gland is removed, it primarily affects the endocrine system. You will need hormone replacement therapy (HRT) lifelong to manage metabolism and energy. It's a big change, but totally manageable with consistent medication and follow-ups. Don't skip your meds!

The endocrine system is definitely impacted. I believe, alongside medical treatment, gentle pranayama and a calm mind can help the body adjust. It's about finding balance, not just replacing the hormones. Listen to your body and breathe.

It's completely normal to worry about something like this. Removal of the thyroid gland impacts the endocrine system significantly. It's a big adjustment, and your feelings are valid. Just make sure to get all your questions answered by your doctor.

Hello beta, the main system affected is the endocrine system, because thyroid controls many hormones. You will be on medication to replace those hormones. But don't worry, many people live full, healthy lives after this. Just be regular with your medicines and doctor visits.

Dude, if the thyroid's gone, your endocrine system's gonna feel it the most. It messes with hormones and metabolism, so you'll need meds to balance things out. It's a big deal but manageable, I guess.

Just been through this! Your endocrine system is the one that gets affected directly. You'll need daily thyroid hormone replacement. I felt really tired initially, but after adjusting the medication with my doctor, I'm feeling much better now. It's a process, but you will recover.

It definitely affects the endocrine system because you won't have your own hormones. The main thing is that you'll have to take meds daily for life. Factor in the cost of these meds and regular blood tests, which can add up, so plan for it.
