What supplements are linked to liver damage?

I'm planning to start a new health routine with some supplements, but I want to be cautious. My uncle had liver issues recently. Are there any specific supplements that are linked to liver damage that I should be aware of?

Haan, this is a good question! I've heard too many stories about supplements doing more harm than good. Especially those 'muscle building' ones or sometimes even just high doses of vitamins. Best to check with a doc na, before taking anything.

My son had some issues after taking a protein supplement for a while, not severe liver damage but his liver enzymes were high. The doctor said many herbal or 'natural' supplements aren't regulated properly. Always read the ingredients carefully and consult a pediatrician or doctor before giving kids anything.

Oh, the liver! That poor organ gets abused so much, not just by supplements but by biryani and late-night snacks too, haha. But seriously, some weight loss pills and certain types of 'energy boosters' are notorious. My doctor always says if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

As someone with diabetes, I'm super cautious about anything I put in my body, even supplements. I remember my doctor warning me about certain 'blood sugar control' supplements that weren't scientifically backed and could mess with the liver. Always check if it interferes with your regular meds.

I had a bad experience a few years ago with a fat burner supplement. Ended up with jaundice and doctors were really concerned about my liver. It took months to recover fully. Please, please don't experiment with supplements without proper medical advice. Your liver is too important.

It's so scary when you hear about these things, especially when you're just trying to be healthier. The thought that something marketed as 'good for you' can harm your liver is really unsettling. It's okay to feel worried, and it's smart to ask these questions. Better to be safe.
