What not to consume during pregnancy?

I'm expecting my first baby soon, and everyone keeps giving me different advice about diet. It's confusing. What are the key things I should avoid consuming while pregnant to keep myself and the baby healthy?

During my time, we were taught to avoid raw papaya, pineapple, and very hot or spicy street food during pregnancy. Drink plenty of fresh coconut water and warm milk with a little ghee instead. It is always best to stick to clean, home-cooked food to keep the mother and baby safe.

My sister is pregnant right now and she was told to totally skip raw sushi, half-boiled eggs, and unpasteurized milk products. She also had to cut down her iced coffees big time. It seems hard but it is only for a few months to keep the baby safe.

I remember panicking after accidentally drinking a juice with a bit of pineapple in my first trimester. My gynecologist told me that small amounts are fine, but just avoid large quantities of raw papaya, raw meat, and unpasteurized dairy. Try not to stress too much, just eat fresh food and stay hydrated.

Please do not consume raw or unwashed salads from outside vendors. I ignored some mild stomach cramps after eating street food during my fifth month, and it turned into a bad bacterial infection that could have been avoided. Always get even minor symptoms checked by your doctor immediately.

Avoid processed snacks, canned soups, and excessive caffeine, as they can spike your blood pressure. I had to monitor my BP closely during my pregnancy, and cutting out salty, packaged foods really helped. Regular medical checkups and a clean diet are your best defense.

Make sure you completely avoid raw sprouts, undercooked meats, and high-mercury fish. Focus on clean protein like thoroughly cooked paneer, chicken, or well-boiled eggs instead. Keeping your nutrition clean and staying active with light walks will make a huge difference.

I am newly married and still trying to learn about all this. Is it true that we shouldn't even have Chinese food because of the MSG, or is that just a myth? I would really appreciate any gentle guidance on this.
