What meds cause weight gain?

I started a new medication a few months ago for my anxiety, and since then I've put on some weight. I'm wondering if it's the medicine, and what kind of medicines usually cause weight gain.

Ah, weight gain! As if getting older wasn't enough, now medicines are joining the party. I've heard anti-depressants, some diabetes meds, and even steroids can make you put on kilos. It's always a fun surprise, isn't it? Best to discuss with your doc if you're concerned; maybe there are alternatives!

A lot of people worry about this. Yes, many medications can contribute to weight gain. Common culprits include certain antidepressants, antipsychotics, some diabetes medications (like insulin or sulfonylureas), corticosteroids, and even some antihistamines. It’s important to talk to your prescribing doctor if you’re noticing this side effect. They might adjust your dose or suggest an alternative that's right for you.

Beta, many of these modern medicines have side effects, no? Some can make you gain weight. Anti-depressants, medicines for sugar, even some pain killers. It's best to always discuss with your doctor if you're noticing changes. For general well-being, remember to eat simple ghar ka khana and walk a little, if your body allows.

Arre, haan, kai dawaaiyon se vajan badhta hai, maine bhi suna hai. Jaise depression ki dawa, ya sugar ki kuchh. Agar aisa ho raha hai toh apne doctor ko zaroor bataana, beta. Woh achhe se samjhaenge aur kuchh raasta nikalenge. Aap apna khayal rakho.
