What labs show kidney function?

My mother is going for a check-up next week, and her doctor wants to see her kidney function. What are the main blood tests or labs that show kidney function? Trying to be prepared.

Look, you need to ask for a KFT (Kidney Function Test). It will show your creatinine, urea, and uric acid levels clearly. Just go to a good diagnostic lab and get the blood test done without delay.

At my age, my doctor makes me get a Kidney Function Test (KFT) every year just to see if my system is still filtering my daily filter coffee properly. It mainly checks creatinine and urea, nothing to get worked up about.

Is it called KFT? My doctor recommended it because of some swelling in my ankles, and I am honestly very scared about the results. Did anyone else feel really anxious waiting for their creatinine levels to come back?

You should ask the lab for a Kidney Function Test (KFT) or RFT panel. It specifically looks at serum creatinine and blood urea nitrogen to see how well your kidneys are filtering. It is a simple blood test, and you don't even need to fast for it.

My grandad had to get this checked recently. It's called a KFT, and it basically measures creatinine levels. It is a quick blood test and super common, so don't stress!
